Students put on a fully-staged production of the musical Disney's Aladdin JR.

Complete with lights, costumes, and sets, our performances and rehearsals prepare students to stretch their theatrical and performing arts legs.

DETAILS

SYNOPSIS: Disney’s Aladdin JR. is based on the 1992 Academy Award®-winning film and the 2014 hit Broadway show about the “diamond in the rough” street rat who learns that his true worth lies deep within.

The story you know and love has been given the royal treatment! Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. With expanded characters, new songs, and more thrills, this new adaptation of the beloved story will open up “a whole new world” for your young performers!

REHEARSALS: Mondays, 4:30-7pm, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30-6:30pm, beginning Wednesday, January 12. Tech rehearsals are February 28 - March 4 (Monday through Thursday) from 4:30-7:00pm.

PERFORMANCES: March 5 at 7pm and March 6 at 2pm. Additional performances may be added based on demand.

AUDITIONS: No audition required. Students will act/sing/dance for the director on the first day of rehearsal and be cast in roles accordingly.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN: Music, singing, dance, public speaking, self-esteem, team-building, social skills

WHAT TO BRING: We will provide a script. Students should bring water and a pencil to every reheasal. Wear clothes you can move in and sneakers or jazz shoes.
