Urinetown / Holmes and Watson: The Game's Afoot

Theater West End is excited to announce its Fall 2020 West End Prep lineup, specially designed for students with a passion for performing and preparing them for a career in the arts!

Students have the opportunity to perform in URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL, or HOLMES AND WATSON: THE GAME'S AFOOT (our first West End Prep play offering!). These programs are audition/tuition-based, and open to currently-enrolled high school students.

Both productions are fully-staged versions of the shows and performed in-person at Theater West End’s state-of-the-art performance space.


URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL

Rehearsals, beginning Friday, 8/21

  • Mondays / Wednesdays / Fridays (4:00-7:30pm)

  • Saturdays (12:00-5:00pm)

Performances 

  • 9/18 (7pm)

  • 9/19 (2pm, 7pm)

  • 9/20 (2pm, 7pm)

HOLMES AND WATSON: THE GAME'S AFOOT 

Directed by Brance Cornelius

Rehearsals, beginning Tuesday, 8/25

  • Tuesdays / Thursdays (4:00-7:30pm)

  • Sundays (12:00-5:00pm)

Performances 

  • 10/16 (7pm)

  • 10/17 (2pm, 7pm)

  • 10/18 (2pm, 7pm)


AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Held Monday, August 17 from 5-9pm for both productions (Urinetown and The Game’s Afoot). Auditions are by appointment only and will take place in-person at Theater West End, located at 115 W 1st St, Sanford. If needed, you may be asked to return the evening of Tuesday, August 18 for a callback audition.

URINETOWN: Please prepare 2 contrasting pieces of music, each 16-32 bars in length and have sheet music in the correct key for your audition. ONE PIECE IS REQUIRED TO BE FROM URINETOWN, we ask that your second piece is not. An accompanist will be provided. Accompaniment tracks ARE NOT PERMITTED. All auditioning should be prepared to do a movement call.

HOLMES AND WATSON: THE GAME'S AFOOT: Arrive with a contemporary monologue, or, if you dare, a passage from Dr Watson's speeches that shows a command of the language and storytelling ability, still keeping it under one minutes.

PAPERLESS: During audition signup, upload a headshot or photo, resume/experience, and any rehearsal and performance conflicts. For safety, we will not accept paper copies at the audition.
