Theater West End has become known for embodying American theatrical culture, and highlighting American theater in Downtown Sanford. This caught the attention of Timothy Totten, founder of Celebrating Heroes. A funeral industry professional, Tim wanted to move away from the sadness and loss generally associated with funeral homes, and so Celebrating Heroes was born.

Celebrating Heroes is a community outreach and military appreciation project that seeks to honor service members by lining the downtowns of Central Florida with high quality, full color banners featuring the image, name, rank and awards of service members living and deceased. "What do we fight for and stand for as a culture?" Totten muses. "Yes, democracy...but also culture. Service and enrichment are important. The arts are important." As they sought out a company to provide donations, they hit upon Theater West End; situated directly in the heart of a downtown, offering service and enrichment opportunities to the community, and able to provide another positive touchpoint within a community.

It started for Celebrating Heroes in Eustis, where 59 banners were hung from September 1, 2019 to November 12, 2019. At the end of the span, a donation of $4,200.00 was made to Lake County Vet Fest. Last year, Celebrating Heroes widened their reach even further and created banners for each of the 2,500 high school graduates of Lake County, completely free of charge. As a result of their patronage of Theater West End, we’re offering a 15% Veteran's discount on all tickets and subscriptions to all veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
