PROGRAM ASSISTANT Allyson Elliott

Our elementary and middle school students put on a fully-staged production of ROCK OF AGES!

Rock of Ages tells a classic boy-meets-girl love story, set on L.A.’s famous Sunset Strip during the late 80’s. When Drew, a city boy from South Detroit, and Sherrie, a small-town girl from Kansas, both move to L.A. to fulfill their dreams of stardom and finding love, their worlds inevitably collide. They find themselves embracing the rock and roll culture of the late 80’s at The Dupree room, a “legendary temple of rock 'n' roll excellence.”

When a developing company attempts to purchase The Dupree Room and convert it into a strip mall, Drew and Sherrie’s dreams of love and stardom are put to the test. Rock ‘n’ roll icon, Stacee Jaxx arrives in town to help save The Dupree Room, but causes friction between Drew and Sherrie, forcing their paths to diverge. Will The Dupree Room be saved before it’s too late? And will Drew and Sherrie set their love back on course?

ROCK OF AGES is part of our West End Prep program, specially designed for youth with a passion for performing.
