Wrongfully exiled by a corrupt judge, barber Sweeney Todd returns home consumed by a need for vengeance, and finds an unlikely ally in Mrs. Lovett, the struggling proprietress of a pie shop just below his new barber chair.

What begins as a quest for justice curdles into something far darker, as Todd's razor and Mrs. Lovett's ovens combine to feed a hungry city an ingredient it never expected. Adapted by MTI in close collaboration with Sondheim himself, this edition preserves the show's dark wit, soaring score, and theatrical bite while shaping it for performance by young actors.

Our production embraces the show's blend of gallows humor, suspense, and unforgettable music, bringing one of musical theatre's most acclaimed scores to life on the Sanford stage.
